A Simple Guide for REMS Parents and Students: Making School Fun and Easy

Welcome to the REMS family! At Rajendrapur English Medium School, we want to give your kids the best of both worlds. We teach top-quality subjects using the Cambridge system, but we also make sure our students grow up with strong Islamic values and modern computer skills.
One of the best things about our school is our “No Homework” rule. We believe that kids should do their learning and practicing at school with their teachers. When they go home, they should have time to rest, play, and be with their families.
Since we do things a little differently here, we put together a few simple tips to help parents and students have a great year!
Tips for Parents: Helping Without Homework
Since you don’t have to fight over homework at the kitchen table, you might wonder, “How can I help my child learn?” Here are a few easy ways:
- Just Talk to Them: Instead of checking homework, just ask about their day. Ask fun questions like, “What made you laugh today?” or “What was the coolest thing you saw in science class?” * Grow Their Faith at Home: We teach the Qur’an and Islamic values at school, but it means so much more when they see it at home. Pray together as a family, or tell stories about the Prophets before bedtime.
- Encourage Smart Play: We teach robotics and coding at school. You can support this by giving them building blocks, puzzles, or fun learning games to play with in their free time.
- Make Sleep Important: Our school days start early! Make sure your child goes to bed on time so they wake up happy and ready to learn. A well-rested brain learns much faster.
Tips for Students: How to Be a Great Learner
To our students: Having no homework is awesome, right? But it also means you have to work hard while you are in class! Here is how you can do your best:
- Focus in Class: Because you do all your work at school, you need to pay close attention to your teachers. Ask questions if you don’t understand. Remember: the harder you focus in class, the more free time you have at home!
- Try New Things: School isn’t just about reading and writing. Try joining a sports team, the debate club, or doing some art. This is the best way to find out what you love to do.
- Be Proud of What You Learn: You get to learn math and science, and also memorize the Qur’an. Be proud of that! Learning focus in your Islamic studies helps you do better in your other subjects, too.
- Enjoy Your Free Time: When school is done, go have fun! Play outside, read a story, or just hang out with your parents and brothers or sisters.
We Are a Team
At REMS, we believe that raising a smart, kind, and happy child is a team effort between the teachers and the parents. By working together, we can make sure your child has a wonderful time learning.
